Before the iPod and mp3 players people used to carry their music and have the crowd follow the beat to the music. From Bboys to Pop Lockers, even to the rockers... most people enjoyed the use of the boombox, a portable radio and cassette player with functions of an equalizer and high quality sound. In the early days of hip hop, many would 'decorate' and paint up their boomboxes... elaborate add-ons to graf, they would personalize to their own.
